Anonymous Encouragers was started when Jennifer and Jessica, two sisters in Texas, decided to make a difference.
Anonymous Encouragers began in June 2010 at a time when I really wanted to do
something tangible for God. After not being able to decide what to do, I decided
to start something of my own. The idea of writing letters just came to me; I’m
completely convinced that Anonymous Encouragers is God-inspired!
I went to my family to tell them about my idea and my sister Jessica said she
would join me. Throughout that day and the following ones we collaborated on
everything—how to write the letters, where to get names, website design, telling
our friends, etc. Then we began writing letters. I was nervous about it at first, but
after a few letters I began to really love the idea. Now I look forward to writing
my letters and praying for the people I send them to!

After Jennifer came to me with the idea to start writing anonymous letters, I was
quick to ask if it was something we could do together. Though I had dreams about
Anonymous Encouragers becoming something bigger than the two of us, I never
imagined so many people would join in our efforts so quickly. This has reminded
me of Ephesians 3:20, “Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all
we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us.” This verse
definitely describes our experience with how Anonymous Encouragers is growing.
Telling K-LOVE…
About a month after we started Anonymous Encouragers, I was reading Sterling’s
bio on K-LOVE Radio's website and I was amazed to see “Anonymous kindness” at the
top of her favorite things list. Excitedly I put a link to Anonymous Encouragers’
website on her Facebook page, asking her to check it out. That afternoon she
mentioned it on air! Jennifer and I happened to be near our radio. When we
heard the words “Anonymous Encouragers” we were overjoyed! Surely God has
a plan for AE. Without Him it would not be growing as it has been recently.
